Week 8: Window Installation and Preparing for Weatherproofing

This week marked a significant step towards enclosing our single-story home: window installation! With the framing complete, we're now focusing on making the structure weathertight and ready for the exterior cladding.

The installation of windows was a major milestone. Seeing the windows in place not only changes the look of the house dramatically but also marks a crucial step in protecting the interior from the elements. Each window was carefully installed and sealed to prevent leaks and ensure energy efficiency.

We also spent time preparing the exterior sheathing for the weather-resistant barrier. This involved ensuring the surface is clean and free of any debris, ready to receive the protective layer. Next week, we'll be applying the weather-resistant barrier itself, a critical step in preventing moisture from penetrating the walls and causing damage. This barrier will act as a second line of defense, ensuring the longevity of the home. With the windows in and the weatherproofing preparations complete, we're getting ready for the exterior cladding. Stay tuned for next week's update!
